SOLOS FOR VIOLA PLAYER PIANO Format: Paperback

Solos for the Viola Player with Piano Accompaniment is a classical sheet music collection featuring 16 works and traditional melodies for viola and piano by Schubert, C.P.E. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Handel, Marais, Wolf, Brahms, and others. Edited by violist Paul Doktor, it is designed for viola players seeking medium to medium-difficult solo repertoire for practice, lessons, rehearsal, and performance.

The collection includes the viola solo part and piano accompaniment in standard notation, with fingerings and bowings to support study of each selection. It is intended for violists, teachers, and collaborative pianists working on repertoire for learning, recital preparation, or performance. An accompaniment CD is available separately and is not included.

The varied program moves from lyrical works and dances to themes drawn from traditional repertoire, giving players opportunities to explore contrasting phrasing, articulation, rhythm, tone, and musical character. Piano accompaniment also makes the collection useful for collaborative rehearsal and performance, while the range of composers and styles can bring variety to viola practice.
