Something's Going On Here delivers on the title's promise of mystery and intrigue. Nick Gray has retired from teaching English for twenty-five years at Penn. State and moved to the west coast at his cousin's insistence. While beautiful on the surface, the small community of Los Osos bubbles with deception, fear, betrayal, and manipulation. As Nick comes to know the residents, he learns about himself. This small town challenges, frustrates, and, ultimately, saves Nick. In this archetypal mid-life story, the hero in Nick emerges as he encounters his own unresolved conflicts which must heal for him to survive life in Los Osos.

"I've practiced as a clinical psychologist for forty years. Something's Going On Here roots in a strong psychological/spiritual orientation. In mid-life all of us are called to greater heights and depths than we've known. The action of the story confounds but the deeper message about trusting our personal guidance will resonate with readers."

Ruth Cherry, PhD is a clinical psychologist in private practice. In more than forty years practicing individual psychotherapy and twenty-five years teaching meditation, she has learned that trusting our unconscious guidance is the life challenge for each of us.
