THE SONATINAS OP13 NO1 & NO2 PIANO Format: Paperback

The Sonatinas by Russian composer Dmitri Kabalevsky is a piano solo sheet music collection presenting two complete works from Opus 13. Written for solo piano and classified as SMP Level 9 (Advanced), this volume is suited to pianists, teachers, and students exploring Kabalevsky's distinctive 20th-century Russian repertoire. It is useful for individual practice, piano lessons, repertoire building, recital preparation, and performance.

The collection contains Sonatina No. 1 and Sonatina No. 2 in standard notation with fingerings and requires no additional accompaniment part. The music is presented as piano solo literature without lyrics, keeping the focus on Kabalevsky's original instrumental writing. Both works are conveniently gathered in one edition for use at the piano, during lessons, or in rehearsal.

With two related works gathered in one volume, pianists can spend sustained time with Kabalevsky's musical language while exploring contrasting passages, chordal writing, extensive scale passages, phrasing, articulation, and musical expression. The compact collection also makes it easy to concentrate on a defined body of repertoire rather than moving between separate editions. Teachers may use the volume when introducing Kabalevsky repertoire, while pianists can keep both Opus 13 sonatinas together for continuing study and performance.
