(Subject: World War II - Africa/Middle East) The author served in the Welsh Guards and the Royal Sussex Regiment and, in WWII, he was seconded to the Nigeria Regiment and volunteered for the Chindits. Aged 41, he must have been one of the oldest NCOs to serve in the second Chindit expedition. This is one of the very few accounts of service in a West African unit.
