The issue at hand was the nomination of the Whig candidate for the United States Senate from Missouri, and involved questions of interpretation of the Missouri Compromise. Not in Sabin. This copy lacks the three-page appendix noted in some copies, but which is also not present in the copy offered by the Eberstadts, or the copies at Harvard and the American Antiquarian Society.
