SPINTRIAE Book Two - Vortex

Book Two: Vortex

Tiberius has retired to the seclusion of Capri to exercise his power by remote control. But when power becomes absolute it breeds conspiracy and murder. The closer he draws his heirs and allies, the more dangerous they become, and his ruthless acts of self-preservation leave him without a viable heir as the end of his life draws near.

Meanwhile, intrigue, powerplays, and terror at the heart of power are intertwined with the fates of the slaves, spintriae and soldiers on the island, as all are drawn into a vortex of mutual destruction in the final days of the dying emperor.

In a modern world dominated by dictators and authoritarian rulers and harbouring sheltered enclaves where the rich and powerful can pursue sexual exploitation with impunity, it is time for a new vision of sex and power in ancient Rome.
