Red cloth rubbed with some stains; front board's gilt lettering remains bright; spine ends and board corners frayed; spine cloth mildly sunned with gilt stamping still fairly bright save for dulled publisher lettering at heel. Affixed to frontispiece's recto is typed sheet noting this copy was to be "Presented as a prize at the Rombout Hunter Trials, November 1, 1941 . . ." and signed by author Harry Worcester Smith; foxhunting-themed bookplate on half-title's verso; moisture stains with some red color bleed from boards at top margins of several initial and rear leaves; some foxing on early pages as well; interior text leaves remain mostly clean.
