SPSS Advanced Statistics 6.1

SPSS is a statistical and data analysis package. Its modular format allows users to build a system that is tailored to their exact analysis needs. This work concentrates specifically on the more advanced statistics capabilities of the package.

The Advanced Statistics options is an add-on enhancement to the SPSS Base that provides additional statistical analysis techniques. This module includes many powerful univariate and multivariate techniques like MANOVA, Kaplan-Meier estimation, Cox regression, loglinear analysis including GLM-type loglinear, hiloglinear, nonlinear regression, probit analysis, logistic regression, and a matrix language with canonical correlation, jackknifed discriminant and ridge regression macros built in. This manual is divided into two sections. The first section provides a guide to the various statistical techniques available with the Advanced Statistics option and how to obtain the appropriate statistical analyses with the dialog box interface. The second section of this manual is a syntax reference guide that provides complete command syntax for all the commands included in the Advanced Statistics option. Statistical procedures in this module include: Logistic Regression, MANOVA, Loglinear, Hiloglinear, Unconstrained Nonlinear Regression, Constrained Nonlinear Regression, Genlog, Probit, and Survival.
