London 1891-1892. The first year (12 monthly issues) of this important journal of violin and string music: May 1890 - April 1891, bound in a single volume. Hardcover. Octavo, 240pp, illustrations ( large foldout plate of basic plan of a Stradavarius violin; portrait of Miss Rose Lynton; violin and other string instrument advertisements) . Original gilt printed maroon cloth with "The Strad" boldly in gilt on a diagonal across front cover panel. **Briefly Inscribed and signed by Polonaski in 1892 on the title page of the volume. VG light wear, uneven fading of cover and spine color faded but gilt lettering still present and legible. Very scarce. Superb gift! Pictures available on request.
