Hardcover, 488 pages, index, 11 full page color lithographed illustrations, 2 tinted illust. many b/w wood engravings. Articles include: the zoetrope and its antecedents (viewing devices), problems of manned flight, ancient mints and modes of coining, colours of Saturn, austrian expedition to observe the eclipse, the sack tree of the East Indies, new magneto-electric machine, hill fortresses of Mysore and much more. Ex library. Covers have little wear. I have made a clear mylar cover for this book. Hinges tight. Slight foxing to preliminary pages, very slight foxing to other pages. Slight dampstaining to top edges of some plates. Handsome color lithographic plates.

Prices net, payment by check, money order, Amex, Visa, MasterCard or Discover
credit card. New Jersey residents please include 6% sales tax. Postage is $4.25 for the first book, $1.75 for additional books. Small books are often billed at a lower rate. Heavy books or expensive books which are sent insured may be charged extra postage. Books are returnable if I have made a significant error in the description. Please notify me before returning a book. Books must be in the condition in which they were sent, including my original markings, and be postmarked not more than 30 days after original shipment. For less expensive books the presence of bookplates, owners signatures and price clipped dust jackets are sometimes not mentioned in the description. Please email or phone me if you have questions concerning this or other matters. I have sold books online since 1998, with over 6000 sales, and have not had a problem.
