In 1934, Sven T. Kjellberg, Director of Sweden's G÷teborgs Historiska Museum (now called the G÷teborgs Stadsmuseum), and his assistant, Olof Hassl÷f, traveled through the islands of the Outer Hebrides, off the west coast of Scotland, in order to research the area's rich maritime culture. Their emphasis was on its material culture- the boats, the tools of the trade. Now, renowned ethnologist Professor Emeritus Alexander Fenton presents this pioneering research with additional material of his own. Key features of the book are its 80 sepia photographs and 35 line drawings from nearly 80 years ago, published here for the first time., , Year2012, Illust. B/W35, Illust. Color80, ISBN 9781905267651, Code 6726. RETAIL ONLY. Hardbound, In Pristine Condition, Pages 109, Size 7 1/2öx 6ö.
