Stockholm : Huvudbladet, 1971-1972. Issues 1 - 4 (all published). Folio newspaper, photo montage and comic strip illustrations (some colour), the first issue with large format (390 x 550 mm) insert photographic poster by Hans Esselius of Jimi Hendrix with printed lyrics of Pass it on (Straight Ahead); all issues in fine condition. Rare complete set of four issues of this shortlived yet highly influential Swedish counterculture newspaper, filled with images and text devoted to, in the main, music and politics. Its name is a play onAftonbladet, Sweden's most famous tabloid newspaper (huvud means head in English, and has the same sexual connotation). OCLC locates only two complete sets (National Library of Sweden; Michigan State University Library). Seller Inventory # 16715

Douglas Stewart Fine Books sells rare books across all fields, but our strengths are in travel and exploration ? particularly of Australia and the Pacific ? and Australian art. In addition, we deal in all types of heritage material, including photographs, manuscripts, ephemera, maps and globes, and fine art.

We love meeting new people and welcoming visitors to our shop (open Monday to Saturday), but if you can't make it to Melbourne you can find probably find us at one of the major fairs in London, New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Toronto, San Francisco, Boston, Hong Kong or Sydney - all places we have exhibited in since 2009.
