(Shapebook) SWEET PEEPING FACES by Alice Reed. New York: E. P. Dutton & Co., ca. 1890. 2-1/2" x 5-5/16". This is a grommet bound book, which when fully opened, makes into a lovely little fan. The stiff paper pages are die-cut in the shape of a leaf, with gilt embossed title (gilt somewhat rubbed) to the top leaf. [4] leaves. Each front side chromolithographed to resemble a leaf with a small, delicate visage of a Victorian era child peeping through a hole in the center of the leaf. The backs printed with 1) the title page and 2) a three leaf poem by Alice Reed. The condition of the book/fan is FINE. No copies located in OCLC/WorldCat. RARE.
