The Sacramento Bee. 1939. Hardcover (issued without dust jacket). Mid-size. Hardcover (issued without dust jacket). On front free endpaper in ink is a name, place, and date, and an address which is lined through. There are 2 phone numbers in ink - and a name and address, made with a stamping device. The book is clean, though somewhat age-toned, with cloth covers, a firm binding, no page folds, no tears, and no interior writing. There is a large, charming 'folk style' map of northern California neatly folded into rear pastedown. The phrase 'They don't make 'em like they used to' would apply to this detailed all-encompassing guide to California's capital city. Both the historic and 'contemporary' features of Sacramento are thoughtfully brought to life. Nicely illustrated with both archival and 'contemporary' photographs. Indexed. 220 pages. Securely packed in a lidded box.
