The Sacred in Nature

The Sacred in Nature is a healing vision of the world. It reflects the most inspired religious writing from faiths around the world on issues of the natural world. These include perspectives on forests, wilderness, animals, nature wisdom, land ethics, natural therapies, among other themes joining religious beliefs with the created world. Just reading "The Sacred in Nature" can be a transforming experience. As the reader absorbs the inspired commentary about respect for the world, this can encourage action to protect and preserve the environment. The nature wisdom of Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jains, Jews, Muslims, Native religions, Shintos, Sikhs, Taoists, Zoroastrians and virtually all the religions of the world are present in this collection. Each offers a reminder of the respect and care that is essential if humans are to rescue society from the moral and spiritual-ecological blindness of the modern era and restore the living ecosystem of the planet. The hope of this book is that it can foster a stronger and deeper realization of how human activity still has the potential to bring about a healthy and transformed planetary whole.
