Coloniae Agrippinae (Cologne), Apud Balthasarvm ab Egmond, 1684, 8vo., later half leather binding with decorative paper, titleplate on spine as well as some modest gold tooling, thick volume, mostly unnumbered pages (preface 16 pp.), the front hinge of the binding is broken exposing the Dutch newspaper scrap that has been used to cover the spine, the bookblock and the printwork is in good condition, printed in three columns in a small font, engraved frontispiece (half title), woodcut vignette on titlepage (IHS), titlepage printed in black and red ink. l A concordance is an alphabetical list of the principal words used in a book or body of work, listing every instance of each word with its immediate context. Concordances have been compiled only for works of special importance, in this case the bible. Here it concerns a concordance to the revised bible text as approved by Pope Sixtus V (1521-1590).
