Sadhana: The Realisation of Life (The Northlume Library)

Sadhana: The Realisation of Life - Rabindranath Tagore's beloved book of serene spiritual meditations, in a new Northlume Library edition.

In eight unhurried, luminous essays - delivered as lectures and gathered here in 1913 - Tagore, the first writer from Asia to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, draws on the Upanishads and his own contemplative life to speak of the soul's kinship with the world.

He writes of our harmony with nature, of the problem of evil and of self, of realisation in love and in action, of the realisation of beauty, and of finding the infinite within the finite of ordinary life. Quiet and profound, Sadhana is among the most cherished of Tagore's prose works.

This Northlume Library edition presents Tagore's complete 1913 text and his own preface, freshly typeset in EB Garamond and Marcellus, behind an original painting by JVB Atelier Designs.
