Said the Night Wind

Fleeing heartbreak and disaster, Tom and Mae are settling in at their inherited ranch in Montana. They hope to create a quiet and peaceful life surrounded by nature.

Native American Rufus Slow Calf is a biracial Sioux who has been managing the Montana ranch. College educated, yet holding to age-old traditions, he is attempting to bridge the modern world with ancient customs.

At 29, Ken Melzer is lost and directionless. After leaving a failed marriage and a failed legal career, he is temporarily leading a solitary existence in the remote Sonoran Desert town of Lunden, Arizona. Ken seems unable to sort out his life.

Charlene, Ken's ex-wife, seeking a new life of wealth and status in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, unexpectedly finds herself living an inescapable nightmare.

...BUT THEIR LIVES ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE FOREVER

Inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's sentiment that being neutral between right and wrong only serves wrong, William T. Goodman brings forth another compelling narrative of intense moral conflict. In this third novel, the concepts of vengeance, loneliness, remorse, love, hate, and ultimate justice merge into a thrilling yet disquieting masterstroke of contemporary storytelling. In Said the Nightwind, Goodman's rich and complex characters are forced to grapple with their troubled pasts, contend with their conflicting emotions and dynamic new relationships, and navigate imprecise notions of good and evil as their respective lives begin to unravel and simultaneously interweave. Goodman's unconventional challenges to traditional concepts of right ans wrong lead the reader on a roller coaster that calls into question accepted norms of civility. From the often seedy high society of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to the vast emptiness of Arizona's Sonoran Desert, to the inhospitably rugged Montana landscape, Goodman cleverly spins a tangled web of merging storylines culminating in a shocking conclusion.
