Keller and his wife, Emily, retirees and newlyweds of nine years, toured the eastern U.S. aboard a motor sailboat. Keller describes the sailing intricacies of connecting between rivers, canals, lakes, and waterways in just enough detail to avoid boredom. He illuminates his story with a few scenic descriptions and introductions to interesting people and boats met along the way. This unusual journey along the Intracoastal Waterway through the Erie Canal and the Great Lakes and over to the Mississippi River certainly brought the pair in touch with a wide variety of scenery, people, and weather, including Hurricane Hugo. During one winter solstice, while the boat was in dry dock, the couple even flew to the Gal{ }apagos Islands. Fans of their first book, Sunset Sailors (1992), will certainly enjoy this one.
