The recipient of this volume, L. F. Findlay, was awarded the 1908 Hessey Divinity Prize.First published in 1870, this is the work of English churchman and writer Richard William Church.In this volume he presents a biography of St Anselm (Anselm of Canterbury; Anselm of Aosta), the Italian Benedictine monk, abbot, philosopher, and theologian of the Catholic Church, who served as Archbishop of Canterbury from 1093 to 1109. In a full calf prize binding, with gilt detailing. Fading to back strip, as is common with green calf. Otherwise, externally excellent. Prize bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright. Very Good Indeed.
