A guide to corset fitting for saleswomen, offering practical tips and also promoting salesmanship training courses offered by the Warner Brothers Company: "Fitting foundations is not just salesmanship. It is an art or science" (p. 1). Includes detailed instructions for how to fit a corset or bra sold by the Warner company for all bust sizes, ranging from AA ("Very small bust") to D ("Heavy pendulous bust"). Directs saleswomen in how to approach the needs of different figures, and offers a list of "do's" and "don'ts" which reveals interesting information about body image at the time (e.g. "When measuring your customer, do not refer to size, particularly if your customer's figure is large. She may be sensitive to such a reference" (p. 37). Another item of note is "You can make figures and improve a flat-chested or out-of-proportion contour with GAY DECEIVERS, sold for AA, A and B. Single vol. (8" by 5"), pp. 44, illus., in original illus. wrps with window cut-out to reveal first leaf below reading). "Some are tall, some are small, Some are thin, some not so thin."
