Slim 8vo. in color illustrated paper covered boards. Patterned endpapers. xii+ 45 pp. plus 4 pp. ads at rear. Cover and frontispiece illustration by G. Patrick Nelson; alll pages margins decorated by Theodore B. Hapgood. About very good, couple small stains front cover, some toning elsewhere; text bright. An underrated short work involving women's property rights in late 19th century Kentucky. In her introduction, author Hall syas, "In writing "Sally Ann's Experience", my purpose was to show the iniquity of the old common law of England in regard to the property rights of married women. Instances of the injustice of the law came to my notice from every part of Kentucky and prompted me to write [it].". A fter being rejected for two years, the story was first published in the Cosmopolitan magazine in 1898 and quickly gained attention---within weeks it was published in New Zealand and subsequently appeared in most Western countries. The Women's Journal (Boston) reprinted it three times and the Ladies Home Journal picked it up as well. Seller Inventory # E25208
