What has caused the many dichotomies in his personality?), and literary criticism ( Paris, Texas ; Buried Child ; etc.). His acting in such films as Days of Heaven and Country is also discussed. All this is done concisely and with little interest in gossip. His early life and influences are traced and each of his endeavors is placed within that context. This is a solid introduction to the work, life, and future of a very private, complex, and interesting talent, who has already won the Pulitzer Prize and promises to be in the public eye for some time to come.
