Synopsis
A delightfully creative, fun Santa story with a cute, catchy sing-along song the whole family can enjoy! Santa's elves are oddly busy hustling and bustling in mid summer. As the villagers start to wonder what all the commotion is about, word gets out that Santa is on a diet! Santa soon discovers that he has--and needs--the support of the entire village to help him achieve his goal. A peppy celebration song becomes the center of his workout routine, motivating him to lose a few pounds to become a healthier Santa.
About the Authors
Connye Florance, a North Carolina native and Tennessee resident, is an award-winning vocalist; actor, published songwriter and teaching artist...and now published author. She was previously named "Jazz Vocalist of the year" by BET Jazz, received honors as an "Esteemed Southern Artist" from SouthernArtistry.org and Tennessee Arts Commission. Featured on more than 27 recordings, Connye appeared toured on and off-Broadway and tours nationally with her one-woman show, Jazz Rhapsody. She has enjoyed decades of stage and studio performances headlining jazz rooms and festivals, black box theaters and concert halls. Always a lover of language, Connye has crafted many kids songs and is delighted with this present accomplishment - her first published children's book.
Emmy-award winner, Brian Hull, has successfully created puppet and live entertainment shows for Opryland USA, Dollywood Theme Park and on his own. He dedicated 25 years to the creation of the award-winning and world famous Wishing Chair Productions at the Nashville Public Library, a puppet program consistently bringing up to 100,000 patrons a year into the library. His inspired idea of hosting International Puppet Festivals at the library is legend in the puppetry world. Brian is sought after as a puppet builder, illustrator, animator, writer and director, actor, voice over artist and opera singer.
Carolyn German is a wordsmith, performer, arts consultant, teaching artist, filmmaker and theater-maker. Carolyn's scripts include both plays (Mosaic- Eclectic New Short Plays; Jo-fina, and the award-winning The Story Builders) and musicals (Airship at Vapor Station; Nashville-The Music City Musical). She is a commissioned playwright (Burden of Justice: 1863 and The Six Bridges), and has been awarded grants for devising work from primary sources (Voices Unwavering and Audio Portraits at the Black History Museum of Warren County). Carolyn leads skill-building workshops on vocal performance, improv, acting, auditioning, writing, and directing, and is the author of The Monologue Method: A Comprehensive Approach to Teaching Acting in the Classroom. Her one-woman show "Unsolicited Advice" was nominated as Best Debut Show 2022 by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets. Carolyn holds a MPS in Training and Development, leveraging her arts expertise to bring soft-skills training to business professionals and corporate teams.
