The Santero (Paperback)

Intuitive and tenacious, Wallace Krieg overcomes dyslexia and makes detective after just two years of patrol duty. But before he has time to celebrate, he finds himself in the middle of a nightmare. Assigned to investigate the mysterious death of young Lana Silvers, all of the evidence seems to point directly to her husband, Adam—whose secret past includes a special friendship with Wallace.

Suddenly the small town of Santero, New Mexico, seems hell-bent on taking down multimillionaire Adam—including an overambitious assistant DA who won’t stop pushing the case forward.

Determined to prove his friend’s innocence, Wallace recruits his artist girlfriend, an oversexed geriatric PI, a gourmet caterer, and a semiretired family physician. Together they expose the limits of technology in solving the most ancient of crimes. But they are running out of time.

Will this be the first and last case of Wallace’s career? Or will he overcome the town’s hostilities, as well as his own personal struggles, to uncover the crucial evidence that could save his friend?

The author's background includes board certification in orthopedic surgery, a degree in electrical engineering, and membership in MENSA. A lifelong lover of reading and writing, The Santero is his debut novel.
