Synopsis
A professional astrologer's memoir---Elizabeth Spring, author of "North Node Astrology; Rediscovering Your Life Direction and Soul Purpose" writes about the poignant journey of Isabelle, a "reluctant astrologer" as she makes her way through her Saturn Return at age 59 while mentoring a young woman through her first Saturn Return at age 29.
The Saturn Returns profoundly changes everyone's life around the ages of 29 and 59. How do we understand the "fated" astrological predictions that challenge us at these times? In this memoir, 'Isabelle' is forced to leave Boston to reunite with her ex-husband at the bedside of her nearly drowned daughter, Sophie, on a remote Celtic island off the coast of Scotland. Her journey takes her from old bookshops in England to sacred monasteries, from Carl Jung's stone retreat in Switzerland, to the back streets of Beacon Hill in Boston.
Isabelle struggles with issues of fate, destiny and "prediction" as she re-discovers herself through a quest to save her life, her marriage, and her daughter. The reader learns astrology as the book proceeds--the second section of the book gives an explanation of Saturn through all the signs and houses, so you can learn more about how Saturn is operating in your birth chart.
Elizabeth's work has been endorsed by many writers and astrologers, including Alice Howell, Virginia Bell, Danielle Blackwell, Donna Cunningham, and Steven Forrest, as well as Jungian writer/analyst James Hollis. You can find her at: htpps://NorthNodeAstrology.com
About the Author
Elizabeth Spring, M.A. is an astrologer with a degree in psychology, with an emphasis in the work of Carl Jung. Elizabeth has studied astrology since 1969 and teaches periodically at the Boston Jung Institute. Her astrology blends Jungian psychology with a close focus on the crucial role of Saturn and Saturn Returns, as well as the hidden messages of the North and South Nodes. In her astrological phone readings, she examines her client's transits to reveal the current and up-coming life challenges and resolutions. "When an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside as fate." Carl Jung "My passion for depth astrology began when I first read that quote by Jung. This book, "Saturn Returns" is composed of two parts: Book One, a fictionalized memoir of my experience with the Saturn Returns--it reads as a novel, and is about what makes love and life "come apart" and come back together again. Book Two, is specifically for the use of the reader, a reference section to help you understand Saturn's placement in your chart and its impact on your life. Readers do not need to know astrology to benefit from either sections of this book, but they will learn what an astrologer's life is like, what the "tools of the trade are," and how love and our life choices can be helped by a little knowledge of astrology." Elizabeth has studied with Steven Forrest, James Hollis, Liz Greene, and Alice Howell. She has taught both astrology and journal writing for people going through major life transitions. She writes on-line blogs on rediscovering your life direction and soul purpose. Elizabeth lives with her husband, Harry, a potter and musician, and their 4-legged love, Snuffy McDuff. They spend much of their time with their daughter Sarah, their son-in-law Shane, and two grand-daughters, Greta and Tallulah.
