The Savvy Student's Guide to Online Learning

This book prepares students for contemporary online learning.  Today, a third of students take online courses.  Even in on-site courses, students participate in online exercises to augment the classroom experience.  While technologies and formats vary, the book serves an authoritative resource for students enrolling in online degree programs or taking online courses.  The authors, both experts in online education, introduce students to the information and skills required of successful online learners to navigate this new learning landscape with confidence.

For those who administer online degree programs, this book, along with the online orientation course, serves as a primer for new online students.  The online orientation provides an overview of the common platforms and tools unique to online course environments. The online resources and examples depict effective methods for student class preparation, communication and interaction.

Topics include: online student expectations,  becoming a great online student, creating an online presence, interaction and communication techniques, providing feedback, online group projects, individual work, technological requirements and how to get technical support, online classroom "netiquette" and time management.
