Seven years after a botched Special Operations raid destroyed his career, former team leader Lloyd Rafferty lives a quiet life as a charter pilot trying to outrun the ghosts of the past. But when he agrees to fly a dangerous prisoner across the desert, fate forces him back into the line of fire.

The prisoner? Tomas Welks, a Mescalero Apache, whose past is as mysterious as it is violent. When a mid-air struggle sends their plane crashing deep into the desert, Rafferty and Welks become the only survivors, stranded in a hostile landscape where heat, hunger, and the unforgiving terrain threaten to kill them both.

Now the hunter and hunted are locked in a deadly game across canyons, rivers, and mountain wilderness. With law enforcement closing in, an unknown third player entering the chase, and a violent storm rolling across the mountains, the line between predator and prey begins to blur.

Out here, the desert keeps its own rules. And only one man may walk out alive.
