The selections are for characters aged 18 to 30; several have been written for African-American and Hispanic actors. The book is organized in sections: "Monologues for Women," "Monologues for Men," "Dialogues for One Man and One Woman," "Dialogues for Two Men," and "Dialogues for Two Women." The introduction includes a helpful essay that discusses how an aspiring actor can build a repertoire.
