Add to basketpp. 455. 4to. Our copy is a two volume typed (double-spaced, one side only), photocopied, manuscript reproduced on standard 8 1/2 x 11' white paper. The title page reads: 'J. P. Donleavy / SCHULTZ / Delacorte Press/Seymour Lawrence / Property of:- J. P. Donleavy, Levington Park, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. / Tel 044-8903'. There are a number of hand-written corrections to the typed text (one such can be seen at the 'JPDonleavyCompendium' web site); however, these corrections are not in Donleavy's original hand, but are (as is the manuscript) photocopied. The collector from whom we acquired this set relates that all the original corrections were in Donleavy's hand, and that these two volumes were apparently, together, one set of 30 to 40 sets which circulated through the Delacorte publishing house. Certain portions of this manuscript differ from those in the published book so there was, presumably, a further revised draft of the manuscript. Our collector further relates that this manuscript was purchased in 1982, from a Chicago dealer (we have the name). The manuscript is competently bound in hard cover and internally very clean and tight. The boards show evidence of the removal of labels from the front and spine, but are otherwise perfectly serviceable. 'Schultz', Donleavy's seventh novel, was first published by Delacorte in 1979. It was the first book of a trilogy, the second title being 'Are You Listening Rabbi Low' and the third title being complete, but unpublished.

Most of our US-bound packages are couriered over the border, for shipment via USPS. We find this method of shipping is both faster and cheaper than the other options, even given the possible delay in dispatch. If you wish immediate dispatch, please inquire about the options.
International orders going surface, are sent via Canada Post "small packet" rate, which is the least expensive option for international shipments, but is NOT insurable, so these packages will be sent at the customer's risk. International airmail parcels are sent USPS Priority, which is insured, and the price of which is based on the cost of a standard flat-rate Priority envelope.
