本书主编姚海军是科幻世界杂志社副总编，四川科幻学会副会长，华语科幻星云奖联合创始人，曾创办中国第一份科幻迷杂志《星云》。主编《科幻世界》期间，发掘大量新人。发起并推动“科幻图书视野工程”，其中“世界科幻大师丛书”已引进世界科幻经典200余种；“中国科幻基石丛书”推出的刘慈欣《三体》系列已成为中国科幻的超级畅销书，在世界范围内产生广泛影响。2010年，荣获“新中国60年百名有突出贡献的新闻出版专业技术人员”奖章；2019年，荣获中国科幻银河奖特别贡献奖。
