Science at Home: Practical Activities for Parents and Children [Paperback] Stringer, John

How can teachers encourage parents to get actively involved in their children's homework?

This book gives children the opportunity to follow up science classwork at home using this series of illustrated homework activity sheets. Each activity is designed for parents to participate along with their children, using their home or garden as a starting point, proving that it is possible to find science in everyday tasks!

An excellent resource for both KS1 and 2 teachers, this book offers photocopiable activity sheets, clearly explaining how practical investigations can be carried out at home; teachers' notes with further information on National Curriculum requirements; enjoyable activities (requiring only the type of resources found in any home); successful ways to help children develop science skills and to plan and discuss their work and space on the activity sheets for children to record their findings and for parents/teachers to provide feedback and comments.
