Kei Fujimura is a microbial ecologist who is interested in how communities of microbes relate to their host. Her past research studied how fungi in plant roots in the high arctic and the gut microbiome may be related to allergy and asthma development in children. Kei has now switched gears and is working for the Prenatal Screening program at the California Department of Public Health. She is happiest when she spends time with her family.

As well as having worked for local English language media in Hong Kong, he has had regular slots in many well-known international media, including BBC, CNN and NBC. He was Assistant Editor of the South China Morning Post (1987 to 1993), Assistant Editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review (1993 to 2004), columnist for Reader's Digest (2004 to 2008), Sing Tao Group (2008 to 2021) and is now editor of Fridayeveryday.com. He has authored more than 50 books ― many of which have been published by the world's major publishing houses, and translated into many languages. Nury has taught courses at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Nury has lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years. He was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and is married to Englishwoman Mary Lacey, a teacher. They have three children, all Chinese, adopted.
