Scientific Feng Shui for the Built Environment - Fundamentals and Case Studies

Feng Shui is a Chinese wisdom in knowledge and experience related to the built environment, which has accumulated over more than three thousand years. This book as a primer to a scientific study of the subject shows how the principles and practices of Feng Shui help analyze the interaction between people, building and the environment.

This book is organized into three sections, from exploring the major theories of scientific research in Feng Shui including Form School Approach and Compass School Approach, to providing case studies in Feng Shui applications for the built environment.

Dr. Michael Y. MAK is the co-founder of the International Conferences on Scientific Feng Shui and the Built Environment held at the City University of Hong Kong from 2005 to 2009. He is also the Chair of the Technical Committee of those Conferences. Michael is the Program Convenor for the Master of Property in the School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Newcastle, Australia. He has been lecturing in architecture, building, construction management and property courses in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Michael is also a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Building and Construction, City University of Hong Kong, and is a pioneer in developing and teaching a course on scientific Feng Shui in the Master of Science programme.

Dr. Albert T. SO is the founder and has been the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference Series on Scientific Feng Shui and tehBuilt Environment conducted at the City University of Hong Kong from 2005 to 2009. He is an electrical and building services engineer by profession and had been Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Adjunct Professor of City University of Hong Kong. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor of The University of Hong Kong. Currently, he is the Director of Asian Institute of Built Environment promoting education and research related to different building and construction disciplines.
