Paperback thick octavo, good condition, colour photos centre spread, title page & edges notably toned, pages lightly toned, top edge lightly foxed, bottom edge spine little marked, minor edgewear. 452 pp. In 1994, reports of psychic phenomena in Robin Foy's mediumship group at the Scole Farmhouse (Norfolk / Suffolk border) came to the attention of the Society of Psychical Research (SPR). This report is the outcome of a two-year investigation by three senior SPR members, who wrote this report. In over 20 sittings from 1995 to 1997, the investigators, together with other occasional sitters, saw materialisation of physical phenomena (including images on films) and heard spirit messages (including on tape), but were unable to detect any direct indication of fraud or deception. However the Group refused a final test under more strict control conditions. There is critical commentary at the end of the report by other senior psychical researchers.
