About the Author

Jennifer Petersen, motivational speaker and author, is the director of Tea Business School. In the tea business for over 15 years as a tea blender and retail/wholesale business owner, Ms. Petersen also owned a tea & gift shop and tearoom for about twelve years. As the former owner of Carnelian Rose Tea Co., she created and hosted an annual successful pie-baking contest in addition to daily tea tastings. The Amazing Scone Baking Race? "And I thought: wouldn't it be fun to have a virtual baking contest with lots of merchants and contestants nationwide - same day - same time." The first year, 2011, Charity Chalmers and I experimented with ideas. What I found is that local contests work extremely well, large gatherings of people are fun, and having a nation wide contest all in one day is nearly impossible.
