About the Authors

The Hon. Lord Cubie is a High Court Judge. He was previously a Sheriff of Glasgow and Strathkelvin and Deputy Director of the Judicial Institute for Scotland. He has recently been appointed to the Sheriff Appeal Court.

Adrian Cottam is a Sheriff in South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, sitting primarily in Lanark. He was previously a Summary Sheriff in Edinburgh for four years, having worked within the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for over 21 years.

Andrew McIntyre is a Sheriff of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway and a member of the Jury Manual sub-committee of the Judicial Institute.
