Previous owner's name inside, otherwise no inscriptions etc. First-hand account of serving in South Africa with K Company of the 2nd Scottish Rifles. Illustrated cloth binding with (dulled) gilt titles on the spine, and a small inset piece of tartan cloth on the front board. Boards a little grubby with some wear to corners. Front hinge slightly tender but binding generally sound. Many illustrations including two folding plates. A very good example of this scarce book.
