A unique scrapbook comprising of a total of fifty-nine engravings, and two hand drawn pencil portraits. A unique scrapbook volume, containing engravings from various published works.Including various engraved title pages of 'Bells's Editions of the Poets of Great Britain', a portrait of Samuel Johnson, engravings of scenes from Shakespeare, and topographical scenes, as well as two skillful portraits done in pencil.This volume contains a total of fifty-nine engravings, three of which are hand-coloured.Ink inscription of T. Rutt to the recto of the front endpaper, dated 1792. Ink inscription of J. Magg to the front paste down, dated July 1791.Spine is titled 'List of the Army 1770'. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed. Light discolouration to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down and recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the occasional scattered spot. Good.
