? Condition (Very Strong for Age)
This book is in very nice vintage condition, especially considering its age:
Covers:
Clean and solid red cloth boards
Light, even handling wear only
No stains, no major scuffing, no structural damage
Gilt lettering and microphone emblem remain bright and clear
Spine:
Tight and straight
Title and volume number are fully legible
No cracking or looseness
Spine edges show some softening that's age-appropriate. The spine minor surface rubbing but is solid, straight, and fully intact, with bright, legible gilt.
Corners:
Corners remain firm and well-shaped with only light, expected softening at the tips.
Pages:
All pages intact and firmly bound. One light pencil notation on a rear endpaper (shown in photos)
The page edges show natural age darkening and a few small spots, consistent with a well-stored vintage book rather than damage. Endpapers exhibit mild discoloration near the edges, again typical for the era and not intrusive.
The reddish marks visible at the very top margin of a small number of pages are transfer marks from the red cloth cover, a fairly common issue with older cloth-bound volumes. The marks are confined to the extreme top edge margin. They do NOT intrude into the printed text or musical notation
Overall, this is a very attractive vintage copy that presents far better than most surviving examples?ideal for collectors, display, or reference. It retains its original character and charm while remaining solid, clean, and fully intact and would display beautifully in anyone's library.
