This 6.875 x 10.0 inch softcover book is a single issue of Scribner?s Magazine from February 1909. This copy is only in good condition with the paper wrappers still complete but with the spine strip showing real wear and the folds separating for several inches top and bottom - - but with the strip still all but complete. The edges of the wrappers again show wear and small tears but the wrapper is still firmly attached to the text pages. The interior text shows handling wear to the pages which are cut to varying sizes and thus the edges of some pages show crimping and folding but overall the text pages are in very nice condition - - with no markings to be seen. This issue does feature a 15-page article titled ?Indians of the Stone Houses? by Edward S. Curtis - - with 12 Curtis photograph?s - - with sepia toning and striking contrast and composition. The contents feature about 80 pages of assorted advertisements - - some full page - - and with about 150 pages of articles, poetry, short stories, etc. - - that made Scribner?s one of the most popular publications of its time. This issue also features an article titled ?A Midnight Conference? during the American Civil War between Abraham Lincoln and several cabinet members and generals as to tactical decisions during the war.
