The Scriptural Character of the English Church: Considered in a Series of Sermons; With Notes and Illustrations (Classic Reprint)

This book explores the Church of England as a national institution, defending the use of Jewish precedents in its history. The author presents an insightful analysis of the relationship between the Christian Church and its Jewish origins, arguing that the former grew out of the latter through a process of development rather than a radical departure. This idea is supported by an elaborate examination of the Church's sacraments and liturgical practices which the author claims are deeply rooted in Jewish tradition. Through meticulous research and scriptural interpretation, the book provides a fresh perspective on the nature of the Church and its place in history.
