The Scripture Atlas. Published by W & A K Johnston in 1875. Size: 9 1/2 x 11 3/4 inches. Page number: 16 plates plus 6 pages of index and 2 or advertisements. Hardcover: Cream cloth boards heavily embossed on front and back, with black, brown and gilt design and lettering. The maps within illustrate 'The Old and New Testaments with Physical Maps of Egypt, Sinai and Palestine; Plans of Ancient and Modern Jerusalem and c.' Condition: Very Good. The boards are a bit grubby and the lettering faded on the front and completely faded on the back. There are some marks and a bit of wear to the right hand side of the front board, also the corners. The end papers are broken at the hinge but the binding remains perfectly tight. There is foxing on the title page and contents page but the others pages in the book are clean but for a red ink spot at the very bottom of the book which affects a few pages. The pages are un-thumbed. The rear end paper is creased. There is an inscription, beautifully written in pen, on the first end paper, dated 1878.
