xiv, [1], 17-216 pp. Light maroon cloth with spine faded light brown. 8 page introduction, followed by index. A collection of verses from the Bible topically arranged. On front endpaper: in pencil "Eno. E. Hills. / Nov. 1873 / from Hon. Judge Marshall", as well as small stamp of J.E. Hills and small plate of a shield divided in pictorial quadrants: Acadie, Iceland, Spain, Anglo-American. Small rectangular blindstamp to top of title page: Wm Inglis Morse Collection. This volume came from Morse's personal library. Lower 3 inches split at front board gutter but both boards are secure.
