In Search of Ourselves (Paperback)

Who are we? Where did we come from? Where are we going? It’s a common question, it’s true. But who hasn’t thought about it at least once in their life? The question of our existence, origin and destiny has been the subject of deep reflection by humanity’s greatest thinkers for three thousand years and, more recently, by scientists. The questions have been the same since man began to think. The answers have not. Quite the opposite.

Clóvis de Barros Filho carries out work whose impact echoes across all dimensions of knowledge in Brazil and abroad. In the academic world, he has established himself as a respected professor and re- searcher, author of highly relevant publications in various fields of the human sciences, where he is a reference in ethics and moral philosophy. In the corporate world, he is one of the best speakers in the country, notable for the enormous affection he wins from the most diverse audiences who flock to hear him.

Thanks to Clóvis, ideas that were not so long ago locked away in specialist circles have reached millions of people. To be Brazilian and not know Clóvis de Barros Filho is undoubtedly a rarity today. And, above all, a mistake.

Pedro Calabrez has a diverse and dense academic background, with a distinguished career in the corporate world. He has made a name for himself as a university lecturer, applauded and sought after by his students. He has proved to be an excellent lecturer at Casa do Saber, bringing the intricate and complex research of the world of neuroscience to uninitiated audiences in lectures that combine rigor, rhetoric and lightness. Bold and inno- vative in his teaching, he does not hesitate to promote the democratization of the noblest scientific knowledge.

The most brilliant speaker of the new generation, Pedro Calabrez is the leading candidate to take his place among the sacred monsters who now occupy the stages of events all over Brazil.
