This book primarily was meant only to constitute a summuarize of all malacological publications by Manfred Parth published in Spixiana (Munich) and La Conchiglia (Rome) over a period of some 20 years from 1985 until 2006. During recent years Manfred Parth began collecting Chinese snuff bottles. He started by collecting primarily novel snuff botles on the basis of their material characteristics, shape and beauty. Only later did he also cautiously turn his attention to older and rare snuff bottles. Several years ago, he was fortunate enough to acquire in a post-auction sale at Nagel in Stuttgart the major portion of J. L. Fischer's collection of snuff bottles, including many older and unusual bottles. 288 pp., 95 color figs, 120 b/w figs, 118 pls with 622 figs, hc gr. 4 [30,2 x 21,5 cm].
