Henry Schuman was an antiquarian bookseller and publisher who specialized in science and the history of medicine, so for those that knew him receiving a fold-out card featuring the illustrated "Vesalian muscle-men," a series of anatomical drawings from one of the earliest and most important works on human anatomy [Andreas Vesalius De Humani Corporis Fabrica; 1543] would come as no surprise. Red paper wrappers with black text and red illustrated frontispiece; near fine. A single folded sheet is pasted down on rear flap and folds out to reveal fourteen illustrated panels.
