The One Second Machine

In shotgun shooting, perfection happens in less than a blink—within a single decisive second.

From the call to the break, everything important happens inside that window.

The eyes see.
The brain predicts.
The body moves.
The shot breaks.

There is no time to think.

In The One Second Machine, Sai Chiang introduces Championship Performance Architecture (CPA)—a structured performance system built around mastering the sub-second execution window that separates champions from the rest.

This is not a traditional shooting instruction book.

It is a deep exploration into the hidden architecture of elite shotgun performance:

• How preparation determines execution
• Why pressure destroys performance
• The separation between Builder and Operator
• The role of vision, rhythm, and timing
• How subconscious systems control the shot
• Why consistency is engineered—not accidental

Drawing from decades as a U.S. International Skeet competitor, coach, inventor, and founder of Grip Plus Inc., Sai Chiang combines performance psychology, biomechanics, and competitive shooting experience into a framework designed for serious shooters.

The book also includes the real-world competitive journey of his daughter, Alexander “Ali” Chiang, whose Olympic-level success became one of the earliest validations of the CPA system.

Whether you shoot Sporting Clays, Trap, or Skeet, this book will change how you think about performance.

Because in the end—

you are not trying to control the shot.

You are building the machine that controls it.
