Second Supplements to the 2nd Edition of Rodd's Chemistry of Carbon Compounds, Volume IV: Heterocyclic Compounds: Part K: Six-membered Heterocyclic Compounds containing two or more Hetero-Atoms, one or more of which are from Groups II, III, IV, V or VII. Heterocyclic Compounds with seven or more Atoms in the Ring. (Chapters 48-54 in this volume)

Hardbound. This volume deals with Heterocyclic 6- and 7- membered ring systems, containing 'unusual' hetero atoms. It should be noted that Chapters 55 and 56 dealing with related topics are not included here, but will appear together with chapters 57-60 in the final volume of the 2nd Supplement, Volume 4K (partial)/L.

The title of this Volume is, of course, the same as that in the 2nd Edition, published some 20 years ago. However, since then the 'unusual' nature of heterocycles containing, for example, phosphorus, boron and silicon atoms is no longer what it was. Certainly, the number of publications in the chemical literature reflects just how much this general subject area has expanded. Thus, the contributors to this volume have had to exercise all their skills in order to meld together the huge amount of information available into a sharply focused account. This task has been accomplished splendidly by the authors, and completed well within the deadli

1996 This new Volume of "Rodd" continues to be a major service to organic chemistry... The chapters are uniformly well written...they should be standard component of any good organic chemical library. -- Philip D. Magnus, Journal of the Americal Chemical Society
