Original black cloth, spines lettered in gilt, decorative patterned endpapers, top edges dyed red, in the unclipped dust-jackets. Maps and diagrams throughout, some folding. Dust-jackets with some light uneven fading and faint signs of wear to extremities, contents clean, generally an excellent set in well-preserve jackets. Churchill's masterpiece, the single most important historical account of the Second World War, and a major factor in Churchill being awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953. *Note to the New Edition: "The opportunity of a reprint enables various errors in detail to be corrected. I am grateful to those who have drawn attention to these and offered suggestions for improvement.
